“Updating 1 of 15000 presets”

When I do a clone and the console tells me it's updating one of fifteen thousand presets, I didn't believe it. So I made this tool: it counts how many Sequences, Recipes, MAtricks and Presets you have of each type, then shows how many of those presets are and are not used in recipe lines.

It's the audit worth running before a rig change, before handing a file off, and any time a showfile starts feeling heavier than it should.

What it reports

The numbers

• A census per preset type: Dimmer, Position, Gobo, Color, Beam, Focus, Control, Shapers, Video, plus the grand total.
• Used versus unused, per type: how many presets are referenced by a recipe and how many are just sitting in the pool.
• Dangling references: recipes pointing at presets that aren't there any more.
• Showfile totals for sequences, groups, MAtricks and recipes, so you get a sense of the file's size in one run.

Optional switches at the top let you list preset names as it goes, or turn the usage pass off for a faster count.

What “used” means

“Used” here means referenced by a recipe. A preset can still be live in your show through hard-stored cue values, a macro, or the programmer, so treat the unused list as a shortlist to review, not a delete queue.

The plugin is read-only. It counts, prints and stops. It will never delete a preset for you.
